Musical Director Gill Irwin

Gill joined Cheshire A Cappella in October 2024 as Musical Director and has made a great impression on the chorus! Under her expert guidance we were promoted to the second division at LABBS convention 2025 and increased our score by 6%. Gill has also introduced several new songs into our repertoire including 'Wonderful World','Can't Take My Eyes off of You' and 'For Once in my Life'.

 A long standing barbershop singing enthusiast since 1986, and member of the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers, Gill has achieved 3 Gold medals singing baritone with Checkmate quartet (National 1994 & International 1996) and lead with Pzazz quartet 2015.

 

Gill directed her first chorus Crystal Chords from 1990-97 and returned as assistant director between 2010-2024.

 

Between 2001-2006 Gill sang as a soloist with Sing Live North West and as lead vocalist with ’In Cahoots’ cover band.
