After more than 15 years at our previous rehearsal venue, and with an increasing membership, we had outgrown our previous venue and were looking for a rehearsal space that better suited our requirements and aspirations. After some searching, we are delighted to announce that we have found such a place, and we will now be rehearsing every Wednesday evening at Mottram St Andrew Village Hall, Wilmslow Old Road, Mottram St Andrew, Macclesfield SK10 4QP, which is ideally situated

We are very proud to announce that our wonderful Chair, Hilary Gradon is the very deserved recipient of Wilmslow Town Council's 'Outstanding Contribution to the Community' award for 2026. Hilary is pictured receiving her award from Wilmslow Town Mayor, Councillor Sally Harrison at the annual presentation evening, held on Thursday 11th June. Hilary is a fabulous Chair and a great ambassador for our Chorus. What a great achievement!

We are delighted to announce that 4 of the trainees who joined us for our 'Love to Sing' taster sessions in April have passed their auditions and are now fully fledged members of Cheshire A Cappella! Congratulations to Laura, Diana, Abi and Therese who are pictured below with our Musical Director Gill. Well done ladies!

We had a fabulous day of coaching with the wonderfully inspirational David Sangster. So many notes to take away from the day and inwardly digest! Thank you David for a fantastic day!

Every chorus has a stalwart, and Barbara is most definitely ours! Barbara was presented with this lovely planter arrangement by our Chair Hilary to say thank you for stepping up and supporting her over the past few months and doing so much behind the scenes for our chorus. A big thank you from us all!

Congratulations to Sue Ward who joins Norma in the role as Assistant MD. Sue has previously been MD of Cheshire A Cappella, so we know we are in safe hands!

We had a fabulous joint afternoon tea party with Crystal Chords and Affinity Show Choir to celebrate LABBS 50th Birthday. It was a lovely sociable afternoon with much singing and mingling, oh and just a bit of cake eating too!

What a fabulous coaching day we enjoyed today with the fabulous Sally Mclean ! Not only did we learn a great deal, but we had a lot of fun! We can't wait to welcome her back on August 23rd. Thank you Sally!

What a great turnout we had for week 1 of our Love to Sing course! We welcomed 8 ladies, 2 of whom went into the bass section, 3 into the baritone section, 1 into lead and 2 into the tenor section! We started with a fun physical warm up led by our lovely dance teacher Liz, and then our fabulous MD Gill did a mix of fun warm ups, before teaching us all the first chorus of our new song 'Gold'.

Congratulations to our Musical Director Gill on receiving her official 30 year LABBS membership certificate, which was presented to her by our chorus Chair, Hilary. What a fantastic achievement! (However, Gill tells us she actually joined LABBS in 1986, so roll on the 40 year certificate!)

Our two newest members, Nish and Shauna, who joined Cheshire A Cappella in autumn last year were presented by our Chair Hilary with their official letters of membership from LABBS along with those all important pins!
